Novelty Examples
Novelty is anything that is new for you. It can be physical, emotional, intellectual or spiritual. I encourage you to choose a variety of activities and experiences that interest you and will foster what you believe you need to grow the most in.
Some examples include:
-Trying a new restaurant or cuisine
-Listening to a new podcast
-Learning how to sail
-Exploring a new city
-Learning a new creative activity like balloon art, drawing, painting, beading, mosaics, etc
-Asking your crush out on a date
-Learning to play an instrument
-Reading a new book, particularly in a genre you don't normally read
-Start a new workout class like barre, hot yoga, CrossFit, or anything you haven't done before
-Learn a new language
-Go skydiving
-Start a cooking class, or even YouTube tutorials like how to make your own sushi
-Wear a different style of clothing you have never worn before
-Have a conversation with a stranger
-Attend church or visit a spiritual center
-Create a values list and identify your boundaries
-Go on a spontaneous trip
-Learn to meditate
-Make a mood/goal board
Ideally, the activities will be something you have always wanted to do or have piqued your interest in some way. They don't have to be anything crazy, as long as it is something new to you.
An example of what not to do, is listing iterations of something you have already done. For example, listing S2E3 of a tv series you were already watching. While you may have never watched that episode before, it is nothing new and is not helping with growth. Similarly, if you choose on day 1 to start a new language, and then everyday you list as your new novel experience that you 'learned a new word', this defeats the challenge. It may technically be new, but it is not providing you with a novel experience. You can still do these things, but don't list them as new experiences.
